This poster announced a bicycle contest at the Vélodrome Bruxellois during the National Day, on the 22th of July 1894, presided by the King. It is lined on two layers of white cardboard and a layer of fine paper. It was overall dusty, presented several tidelines and numerous folds, tears and losses.

Cutting the poster in two parts to facilitate further manipulations

Dry cleaning with soft brushes, museum vacuum, vinyl powder gum and Mars eraser

Facing of the two parts with Lens Tissue and Methylcellulose. The humidity provided enabled the delining at the same time

Blotter washings

Deacidification on two layers of blotter paper

First lining of the separate parts on thin Bolloré paper and left drying without tension under blankets

Second general lining in tension with Bolloré paper
